Imagine a tradition that not only eases the transition back to school but also nurtures a lifelong love of learning– by simply opening a book together!
Going back to school, whether public or homeschool, is a very exciting time! Gathering new supplies, anticipating new learning and the joys of new relationships. It is a time when we all transition to new and somehow return to what we have always known. I have always loved learning and school. How about you?
What back to school traditions do you have? (I would love to hear in the comments).
We like to do a few things to transition into the school year feeling connected: one-on-one dates, school shopping and finishing up summer bucket list items to get over the last few weeks of summer blues are a few of our traditions.
But my favorite tradition is:
Setting a time in our new schedule to read books together each day.
What if, alongside sharpening pencils and packing lunchboxes, we could start a tradition that deepens our connection with our children? Imagine a ritual that not only eases the transition back to school but also nurtures a lifelong love of learning–by simply opening a book together.
Consider how you can incorporate reading books with your kids as you set up your new school schedules.
We read every night before bed, but any time works. That is the beauty of books. And if you are not sure it is worth it click here to read about 10 benefits to reading with your children.
Have a wonderful new school year! And happy reading!
