There is no wrong way to eat a cupcake! Woven throughout the fun story is a theme of accepting our own differences, and the differences of others.
We craft characters that showcase kindness on every page; kindness to self and others. Children also learn about empathy through included discussion questions and information on the amazing non-profit featured in the story.
Such a colorful, whimsical, heartwarming story about how every single one of us is different, and that’s okay! Actually, it’s pretty awesome!
Using how everyone eats cupcakes at a party to illustrate the children’s uniqueness presents this topic in the perfect, child-friendly way. I loved the representation of different special qualities (including being gluten free, like me!) and how even if something seems a bit odd at first, we can learn to appreciate the differences in others.

I was so excited at the opportunity to have our nonprofit bakery as a centerpiece in Paper Seed Press’s new book. Seeing it unfold within the pages and come to life through author Jeana’s vision has truly been a blessing and an amazing experience.

I love things that promote inclusion, and accepting of differences. It’s so needed in our divisive world. I love the style of the illustrations and that is half the battle in finding a good children’s book.
